Revitalizing Your Solution

If you do not cover your solution when you are not  using it, it will evaporate considerably. (And frankly it is not a good idea to leave it uncovered in a non-ventilated area.)

I had a problem with evaporation mostly during the dry winter months. The solution still works great, all you need to do is add distilled water to the mixture and agitate it well to remix the chemicals.

You are now back on track!

Troubleshooting Electrodag

Electrodag is a paintable graphite medium that you can use as a conductor of the glass for the copper.

While it is a nifty way to easily ready you piece, it has a few drawbacks.
1.  It can easily rub off - especially before it goes in the plating bath. The older the Electrodag, the more likely it will come off.
2. It doesn't stick to the surface of the glass - this is particularly true if  you have polished the glass. Electrodag adheres best to a rougn surface. If you lightly sandblast the sections of glass prior to apply electrodag, it will stick better.

Electrodag does dry out with time. Remember to keep you jar closed tightly.

Greetings!
Welcome to my journey in discovering how to electroplate my glass artwork! I plan on posting the process, chemicals and resources as I discover them. I would love to hear about your experiences, resources and any other cool things you would like share related to the process of electroplating as an art form.
